The final of britains got talent was shown last night and unfortunately Susan Boyle who tried her hardest by singing the same song that she sang in April which catapaulted her to stardom came a very close second to the dance group diversity.

The Cleveland Cavs are taking on the Orlando Magic in game 6 of the eastern conference finals at 8:30 tonight(EST) will the magic be off to play the Lakers in the finals or will Lebron (King) James get up and take the Cavs to the final game in the eastern conference?
Well thats as always at this end of the season a very hard question to answer.
Lebron is on fire, judging by game 5 but the Magic are very strongly in favour being at home to a packed stadium.
Its not going to be easy for the Cavs but anything can happen because it is do or die tonight.

An Earthquake measuring 7.1 on the richter scale hit 130 Km off the coast of honduras at 3:24 am local time (8:24 UTC) this morning 28/5/09.

As it was only 3 Hrs ago as i write this post i have not got any more information as to casualties or damage.

There was a tsunami alert which was later cancelled, honduras experienced building damage, a major fire and communication issues.

UPDATE: 2:30 am

i have reports so far of 24 homes collapsed and at many more severely damaged,Including three homes collapsed in Belize, a water tower in Indepencia and heavy damage to to democracy bridge in El Progresso. There are also reports of major structural damage to buildings in San Pedro Sula.
As far as i know at the moment the death toll stands at 5 but is set to rise. tragically 4 of these were children whose house collapsed after the quake.
This is all i know for now, i will update you as soon as I know anything.

Here are some decent details on this tragedy. All i can say is i think Honduras was quite lucky, with the earthquake being such a large magnitude and in such shallow water, it could have been so much worse.

The official death toll stands at six, including four children who were asleep when the quake struck. The number of dead is expected to rise as news comes in from mountain villages along the country’s Caribbean coast.

Reynaldo Funez, 15, was buried in his house in Pineda de la Lima

six-year-old Deily Yazmin Santos was killed when her house collapsed in the beach town of Morazan

Jose Vicente Maradiaga died of a heart attack during the earthquake in the seaside town of Tela

and a three-year-old boy was crushed when his roof collapsed in Mapulaca

Two other people were killed in home collapses, according to the commission’s chief, Marcos Burgos. At least 40 people were injured, most along the Caribbean coast

The earthquake has destroyed at least 57 homes and damaged another 65, the commission said. It said 14 schools were damaged, as well as two Roman Catholic churches and three bridges.

Democracy Bridge, which spans the Ulua river, collapsed in the town of El Progreso, Col Cordero said. The bridge is one of two connecting the northern city of San Pedro Sula with the rest of the country. The second bridge was deemed safe

In Belize, about five homes collapsed and a reporter saw at least 25 others with severe damage. Many of the wooden shacks on stilts sunk several feet into the ground.

In Monkey River, parts of the ground opened up and left gaping holes up to 4ft deep.

Numerous buildings in northern Honduras have collapsed or been damaged. Neighbouring Guatemala has also reported damage.
Roatan was hit pretty hard, severe building damage.

The USGS said a magnitude-4.8 aftershock struck off Honduras about three hours after the quake

Now for some good news Kari Byron of Mythbusters fame is pregnant, She is due on the 20th of June, not long to go now!

The swine flu has swept around the world like a flu outbreak does and has caused hysteria wherever it goes. Personally, if i hear the words “swine flu” on the news one more time im going to hurl!

ok, yes its a completly new version of the flu, yes it is extremely virulent, and yes it needs to be watched but seriously the amount of press and airtime it gets is absolutely ridiculous. 

In the past, serious flu outbreaks have killed 2.5% of infected people, on average around the world the swine flu has killed about 100 people 85% of them in mexico with a total mortality rate at 1.7% This flu stain more than likely festered for months before being recognised for the outbreak that it is, which resulted in many more than necessary deaths.

In the US, 6764 people have been infected and all of 14 confirmed deaths that is a 0.21% mortality rate. To put this into perspective, the avian flu H5N1 a few years back, which never became very virulent, so never really spread had a mortality rate of over 80% in indonesia. Is swine flu really worth being every second word in any given news bulletin for the last month???
