Nuclear War Imminent!

Well it certainly seems that a nuclear confrontation on the korean peninsula is more and more likely every day.

Every day there are more threats and more big words from both sides, the US and the UN have condemned and sanctioned North Korea for their tests of missiles and nukes as much as is possible, and North Koreas official reaction is to say they are going to produce more nukes.

North Korea said over one-third of 8,000 spent rods have been reprocessed and the plutonium extracted would be used to make nuclear weapons. The country could harvest 6-8 kilograms of plutonium, more than enough for a nuclear bomb. It is currently believed that they have enough to build half a dozen bombs, more than enough to devestate the korean peninsula.

It has been said from the north that any attempt to stop and search ships suspected of carrying nuclear weapons will be taken as an act of war. This has been sanctioned by the UN and is apparently going to be carried out by the US and South korea in the near future.

The sanctioning of this searching is aimed at stopping North Korea from being able to fund its uranium enrichment program by selling weapons.

So to sum this up, unless i have it all wrong, please correct me if i do, Everyone in the world wants North Korea to pack away the nukes and stop threatening to blow everyone to smithereens, but the “dear leader” is essentially saying “no, i wont be peaceful, i need to be able to threaten world war 3, they started it!” im just waiting for the US to obliterate them then they will go crying to the UN “Moommyyy he hit me!”, seriously, my 18 month old son acts better than that.

here is a recent news broadcast which pretty much sums up the latest actions/reactions.

North Korea – Another Nuclear Test

North Korea has stated that they intend to match the upcoming UN resolutions condemning the recent nuclear bomb and ballistic missile tests with yet another nuclear weapons test and another missile test.

The tension is still escalating between the two countries and the way I see it, there is only two options, they are
1: N.Korea sees some reason to stop this madness or
2: Kim Jong Il gets annihilated by the US.
The “dear leader” is probably so misguided that he believes he can compete in a battle with the US.

And thats not all, sources in North Korea have claimed that Kim Jong Il is planning not only this “test” but 3 more as well and another Taepodong-2 missile test.

This kind of information is very hard to come by as North Korea is a very secretive country, and fox news has refused to name the sources of this information because it will compromise operations in a country that US spymasters consider one of the hardest to penetrate.

It certainly looks like North Korea is hell bent on provoking WW3 as they seem to be letting nothing stand in their way, thumbing their noses at the rest of the world and ignoring pleas from all sides to stop this madness.

I will keep you updated as soon as I know any more.

North Korea to test ICBM

Reports over the last few days have claimed that north Korea is planning to test a long range missile capable of delivering a nuclear strike to the United States.

The US has stated in no uncertain terms that this will not be tolerated, though no action has been taken and no plans have been publicised on exactly what the US plans to do about this growing threat, though i have no doubt there are such plans and they will be carried out swiftly should North Korea continue to defy the rest of the world.

*Update 13/6/09*

North Korea has rejected the latest UN santions and threatened military action, including weaponizing all of their plutonium stocks.

North Korea has stated that abandoning their nuclear program is out of the question and that it was a necessary decision to protect itself from a hostile US policy and the Nuclear threat against the north.

The North will take “resolute military action” if the United States impose any “blockade” on it. They did not elaborate if they were reffering to an attempt to stop its ships or impose sanctions.

North Korea describes its nuclear program as a deterrent against U.S. led attacks. Washingtonhas stated that they have no intention of attacking, and also expressed fear that the North is selling its nuclear arms to other nations.

This statement has come just hours after the U.N.S.C imposed tough new sanctions on The North, punishing themfor their latest nuclear test on May 25.

The U.N. resolutions have imposed new sanctions on North Korea’s weapons exports and financial’s and allows inspection of suspect cargo ships while either in port or at sea.

To me North korea is acting like  a toddler, tell them they cant have something and they throw a tantrum and scream blue murder untill they get what they want or are stopped, fall asleep from exhaustion or get distracted by something else.

North Korea Nuclear Test

North Korea conducted an underground nuclear test on Monday the 25/5/09.

The Russian military has suggested that this latest test was roughly equal in power to the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WW2.

This comes after North Korea announced in April that it was withdrawing from the six-nation disarmament talks and said it would restore partly disabled nuclear facilities.

This has sent shockwaves around the world as it clearly violates international law and UN resolutions and in my opinion will be the start if not just the catalyst for Kim Jong Il being wiped out like the bug that he is. In absolute defiance of the rest of the world, he now has more than enough firepower at his disposal to do serious damage to not only South Korea, Japan and China but the US, Russia, The Middle East or even Australia, if this renegade leader is not a serious threat to world peace even more so than Saddam Hussain with his so called “Weapons of Mass Destruction” than i dont know what is, at least we know he has the nukes.

The UN security council is holding an emergency meeting to discuss the latest development in the North Korea saga.

Here are some comments from world leaders.

US president Obama: “ The test is in blatant defiance of international law, and Washington will work with the Security Council and the international community to pressure North Korea to give up on its nuclear ambitions..”

British PM Gordon Brown: “erroneous, misguided and a danger to the world.”

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana: “The EU would be joining with the international community to discuss appropriate measures.”

Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister Carl Bildt: “It’s alarming,” “It’s a continuation of the provocative behaviour of the regime in Pyongyang.”

This is something that worries me deeply. I can only hope that the world can achieve lasting stable peace soon.

I will be posting here news as soon as I know anything.
